Angulo, who has joined for a reported £5m, is a physically imposing striker, standing at 6ft 4in, and has a strong eye for goal.

He marked his professional debut for Independiente del Valle, in March 2026, with a goal; the third in the club's 3–1 win against Mushuc Rung. In the same month, he was called up to the Ecuador senior squad for the first time.

He departs Independiente del Valle with six goals in 15 league appearances this season – averaging a goal every 115 minutes – leaving the table-toppers sitting 21 points clear at the summit of LigaPro Serie A.
