Danso played in all four of Austria’s World Cup fixtures in the summer – and has made 36 appearances in total for his country.
Five years ago, Danso joined Lens, where he made 128 appearances, before joining Tottenham Hotspur, initially on loan in the 2025 January window, before making the move permanent.
Danso moves to the Stadium of Light on loan having made 52 appearances in total for Spurs.
He will wear the number 4 shirt this season.
