A pre-draw will be held during the build-up to determine whether each of the eight clubs competing in the UEFA Champions League or Europa League will be drawn at home or away.
The Round Three draw will feature 32 clubs - the 24 winners from Round Two, plus the eight Premier League sides competing in UEFA competitions. Special draw conditions have been introduced due to the expanded European competition calendar.
The eight clubs involved in the Champions League or Europa League cannot be drawn against each other in Round Three, allowing their Carabao Cup fixtures to be scheduled around their European commitments.
Those eight sides will instead be drawn against teams from a separate bowl containing the remaining clubs. Once those eight ties have been decided, the final eight fixtures will be drawn as normal.
