From Roker Park to Europe – Jeff Brown’s Sunderland Story

Now, as the club prepares for its first game in the Europa League on Wednesday at the Stadium of Light against AZ Alkmaar, the broadcaster and lifelong supporter reflects on a lifetime of memories, from watching his heroes as a child to making the BBC documentary 'Finding Roly.'
For Jeff, there was never really a decision to make about which football team he was ever going to support.
He was born on Dinsdale Road, just two streets from Roker Park, and even after his family moved when he was four, the famous old ground remained part of his everyday life.
“I was born in Dinsdale Road, which is behind the New Derby, literally a couple of streets from the ground,” he recalls.
