The highs came in the first half, when Fabio Borini’s goal sent Sunderland supporters into absolute dreamland.
Looking at the scoreboard and thinking, we're 45 minutes away.
Then came the lows - two quick City goals early in the second half, sucking the life out of any hope we had of getting our hands on our first major trophy since 1973.
The image of Borini flying past Vincent Kompany before burying the ball into the far corner with the outside of his boot, sending the Sunderland end into an eruption of noise, is difficult to properly describe to anyone who wasn't there.
