Dan Ballard picked up a hamstring injury while representing Northern Ireland against Georgia during the international break and is expected to be sidelined for a number of weeks, Le Bris has confirmed.

Brian Brobbey also sustained a hamstring issue while on international duty with the Netherlands, with the forward coming off against Germany.

The Sunderland Head Coach expects his in-form striker to return over the next week, but will sit out this weekend's game ahead of a busy seven-game schedule in 21 days.

Habib Diarra, who limped off against Fulham earlier in the season, is set for a return soon, which is good news for Sunderland whose squad will be tested fully over the coming weeks.
